LED SkyCeilings Introduced

EBN July 2006), has introduced EcoSlim Luminous SkyCeilings using edge-lit, mercury-free, light-emitting diode (LED) technology rather than fluorescent lamps.

EcoSlim panels are just 3.5" (90 mm) deep, allowing installation in lower ceilings than standard fluorescent SkyCeilings. The mercury-free lighting panels have an expected life of 65,000 hours or more, according to the manufacturer. Technical specifications from the Sky Factory website show the 23.75" x 23.75" (600 x 600 mm) EcoSlim panels consuming 37.4 watts and providing 2,480 lumens of light.
