Solahart by Rheem Poised for Growth

® USA acquired the Australian company Solahart Industries, the world’s largest manufacturer of solar water-heating systems. Solahart began manufacturing solar water heaters in 1953 and operates in more than 70 countries worldwide; the product has been available in the U.S. since 1978. The best-known Solarhart systems are thermosiphoning designs with integral tanks positioned at the top of the collectors. With Rheem’s leading role in the U.S. water-heating market, there is now tremendous opportunity for solar water-heating penetration here. “The future is very positive for renewable-energy products in the U.S.,” Jeff Mahoney, Rheem’s solar marketing resource manager, told
