Jie Fang Building Wins MIPIM Award

The Jie Fang headquarters building was designed to foster a connection to nature and the surrounding community. Construction is set to begin in the fall of 2004 (see Awards).

Kaplan, McLaughlin and Diaz), based in San Francisco, has been awarded the prestigious MIPIM Architectural Review Future Projects Award for the design of the Jie Fang Daily News and Media Group headquarters in Shanghai, China. The project employs numerous green systems, relying heavily on natural ventilation and daylighting. Currently in the design development stage, the Jie Fang headquarters was awarded “Best of Class” in the office category. The award will be presented in Cannes, France on March 11, during MIPIM, the primary market for real estate trade professionals.
