Vol. 7, No. 9 (October 1998) on Oakes Hall at the Vermont Law School incorrectly stated the estimated cooling load benefits of the enthalpy wheel. While the article described a two-ton reduction in peak cooling load from the enthalpy wheel, engineer Marc Rosenbaum estimates the actual peak load savings at 2.1 tons per 1,000 cfm (15 kW per 1,000 l/s), for a total load reduction from 43 to 24 tons (151 to 84 kW) on the 9,000 cfm (4,250 l/s) airflow. Rosenbaum notes that this peak load reduction would be even greater in hotter, more humid climates. We also misprinted the telephone number for Truex Cullins and Partners, the architects. Their correct number is 800/227-1076.
