SBIC's 2004 Awards Announced
The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council has announced the winners of its 2004 awards program. The jury included BuildingGreen’s Alex Wilson. More information is online at www.sbicouncil.org.
Best Sustainable Practice Awards were given to:
•The
Massachusetts Technology Collaborative for
Sustainable Policy and Program Initiatives;
•The
Trane Company, a business of American Standard, Inc., for
Sustainable Research, Development, Construction Process, and Demonstration;
•
CTG Energetics, Inc., for
Educational Initiatives; and
•
Environmental Design & Construction magazine for
Special Achievement in Communications.
•Honorable mention: the
U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground for
Stimulating Demand Through Increased Consumer Awareness.
Exemplary Sustainable Building Awards were given to:
•First place:
Farr Associates Architecture and Urban Design for the
Center for Neighborhood Technology;
•Second place:
L. Robert Kimball & Associates for
Clearview Elementary School (see

Vol. 11, No. 11 or BuildingGreen’s Case Studies Database);
•Third place:
Integrated Architecture for
Herman Miller MarketPlace (see
