Vermont Energy Star Homes
Thank you for your coverage of Vermont Built Green in July 2003 (
Vol. 12, No. 7). I would like to correct the sentence that reads “Efficiency Vermont, a utility-funded demand-side management program in the state, currently covers all of the costs for Vermont Energy Star® compliance.” The Vermont Energy Star Homes service is jointly sponsored by Efficiency Vermont and Vermont Gas Systems, with each sponsor supporting the costs for the service, including the costs for compliance. The work of Vermont Gas Systems and Efficiency Vermont is rate-payer funded, and Efficiency Vermont is funded by an energy-efficiency charge on electric bills.
