This vented rainscreen assembly, designed by Bora Architects for the Earl Boyles School in Portland, Oregon, uses 3.5" of mineral wool in place of foam insulation. According to designers BuildingGreen spoke with, rainscreen details are a natural fit for alternatives to foam.
