The best products...

  • May be high-performance latex that meets CDPH Standard Method and has VOC levels below 50 g/l (interior)
  • Do not require highly fluorinated compounds
  • May be anodized in the shop
  • May be shop-applied powder coats
  • Are factory-applied coatings when applications demand higher-VOC products

But watch out for...

  • Products containing cadmium, hexavalent chromium, or hazardous airborne pollutants (HAPs)
  • Exterior coatings requiring hexavalent chromium primers
